My dad whose health is bad was over yesterday and asked me to Google your name. We enjoyed a quick read of your bio. I didn't realize this option was available or I would have allowed him to say "Hi" himself. Do you remember the trip in 1954 to Phoenix on behalf of the old Meteor Record label? Would have been the Tennessee Serenaders in the old hearse bandwagon. Good to see your site. I shall return.

Al,
Darlene sent me the link to your website and I enjoyed catching up with you. My mom was Theresa Martines so I'm part of your wife, Norma Jean's family. The only time I remember meeting you was in Disneyland many, many years ago. Nice to see your credits and accomplishments. I am very happy for you.

Sir,
Recently discovered your name on the back of a Beach Boys album. How did you become involved with the track "Diamond Head" off "Friends?" It's an amazing track, quite the atmosphere.

Thanks a million,

Al is the greatest musician I've ever known, not because he is my brother but because it is a fact. He is a constant musical inspiration and source of encouragement.
When I grow up, I want to be just like him.

Hello Al,

The CD's has arrived from New Zealand, and I love them!! Smooth, cool, jazz, my kind of music! I especially like that it's a band, not a solo album. The interaction you have with your band members are great!

Thank you very much for recording this and I can hardly wait until you new CD is released!

Best Wishes!

Hi Al & Norma: Well you just never know who you're going to run across these days when you're playing around on the internet. I started out doing a search for the lyrics to "I'm Just an Old Chunk of Coal" and somehow came across you and this site along the way! What a great surprise to find you here. Looks like your family is growing bigger every year. How wonderful. And by the way, thanks again for letting me be a part of your family way back when. I will always keep many fond memories (and hold a special place in my heart) for those times your entire family took me in and helped me find my way around the big city.

I really enjoyed listening to the samples on this site and hearing you play again (except for one thing... I wasn't able to find "The Ballad of Jim & Lola" anywhere - I must have overlooked it or figured you might be saving it for the title cut on your next album??!!

Hope we will get to see each other someday soon, and I wish that L.A. wasn't so dang far from here. Thanks again for all you did for me. Hugs to you both. Stay well. Keep playin'! Jim
